Product Description

BMC: Teammachine SLR01 Ultegra Di2 - 2017

The requirements for the Teammachine family were defined by the demands of WorldTour racing – a delicate balance of ultra-lightweight for those grueling, above-category climbs, and rapid-fire acceleration for laying down aggressive attacks. In response, BMC engineers outdid themselves and developed BMC's proprietary ACE Technology. With this, they accelerated the design and engineering process and developed 34,000 virtual prototypes in just one year. The end result is the Teammachine SLR – offering the world‘s finest balance of lightweight, stiffness and compliance.

Asymmetrical chainstays are one result of the ACE Technology iteration process. Dramatic core stiffness is achieved through a BB86 bottom bracket with an extra-wide union at the intersection of the downtube, seat tube, and chainstays.

Perfect placement of the rear derailleur cable exit thanks to hollow full carbon dropouts.

The wide top tube to head tube union is the result of the ACE Technology process. Clean and protected internal routing of the Di2 wire along the rear brake cable.

BMC's DTI (dual transmission integration) concept allows for component versatility and clean, internal cable routing inside the downtube and under the bottom bracket.

ACE – Accelerated Composites Evolution Technology

With ACE technology, the most relevant performance characteristics of a race bike; weight, stiffness, and compliance, are combined in the best way possible to produce a unique ride and the ultimate in performance. Rather than physically prototyping every iterative stage during the engineering process, it allows BMC to speed up the evolutionary design process. Driven by more than 200 parameters such as cross-section dimensions, clearances, performance targets, BMC's Finite Element Method (FEM) established a calculation model to determine the absolute real-world performance of the frame. Through complex computations, the characteristics of each iteration of frame design are realized and refined until the optimal combination of all parameters is found.

DTi – Dual Transmission Integration

A frame is only as good as its parts, BMC's are what we like to call future proof. Wielding the tools of their trade, BMC developed the Dual Transmission Integration feature –or DTi. Unique to BMC, DTi allows the cable routing to be easily swapped from mechanical to electronic shift systems. Giving you total freedom in your choice of groupsets. Applied to all of their new road frames, the integration is clean, without loss in the aesthetic or aerodynamic department. A sleek look that performs.

To create the Teammachine SLR01, BMC replaced traditional prototyping processes with the powerful Accelerated Composites Evolution (ACE) Technology. This unique, iterative, computer-modeling program analyzed over 34,000 possible frame configurations to optimize the bike’s geometrical structure, tube cross-sections, and carbon lay-up. The final result is a bike that embodies the perfect combination of weight, stiffness, and vertical compliance to deliver the ultimate WorldTour-worthy ride.

The Teammachine SLR01 is the lightest road bike in BMC's line up and one of the lightest framesets commercially available. But merely creating an extremely light bike is too easy for our engineers – it’s the unique blend of lightweight, stiffness and compliance that puts this exemplary road bike ahead of the rest.

Acceleration Re-defined – with every stomp of the pedals it’s obvious this is more than just a tagline; it’s an engineering philosophy. For the sharpest of climbs and the hardest accelerations, for every attack and every switchback, it’s obvious that the Teammachine SLR holds nothing back.

Light, stiff, compliant – the old saying says “pick two”. With ACE Technology, BMC decided to pick all three. The Teammachine SLR was designed to keep our WorldTour riders fresh during the longest days in the saddle, it will do the same for you on your epic days.
