The evolution of acceleration
The Teammachine has won them all; the Tour de France, the Olympics, World Championships, and grueling Classics. Despite its success, BMC hasen't been resting on BMC's laurels: to stand still means being overtaken – to remain at the top, the best must evolve. To bring you the new Teammachine, they pushed the boundaries of advanced cycling technology. Its creation has been all-encompassing. First they gathered feedback from their professional riders – no one knows the Teammachine better than they do. BMC also sought advice from partners outside of the industry to make sure BMC had access to the latest scientific research. They've leveraged their decades of in-house carbon expertise, and explored the possibilities by applying their ground-breaking ACE Technology. The result is the pinnacle of performance in competitive cycling: the world's raciest balance of lightweight, stiffness and compliance, perfected with maximal integration and Swiss design. Let there be no doubts, they are ready to continue to dominate the peloton.
ACE - 34,000 prototypes in just one year
If you want a 100% optimized bike frame, you'll have to wait a very, very long time. At least this was the case before BMC developed ACE - the in-house computer software used daily by BMC's engineers to digitally simulate each stage and iteration of a new carbon frame. With ACE, BMC have developed virtual prototypes before cutting actual molds, compressing years of testing and prototyping into mere months at the Impec R&D Lab in Grenchen, Switzerland.
ACE - Accelerated Composites Evolution Technology
In 2011 BMC set out to advance their first-generation teammachine design. They soon realized that relying on human trial and error alone to improve a race bike of this caliber simply wasn't going to cut it. Collaborating with experts in the field, they developed ACE, or Accelerated Composites Evolution Technology. Replacing traditional prototyping processes, the iterative, computer-modelling program produced more than 34,000 possible frame configurations in just one year. This information enables them to virtually optimize geometrical structure, cross-sections and carbon fiber lay-ups to ensure that any physical prototypes produced are as close to the finished product as possible, thus reducing development time by light years.
With ACE technology, the most relevant performance characteristics of a race bike; weight, stiffness, and compliance, are combined in the best way possible to produce a unique ride and the ultimate in performance. Rather than physically prototyping every iterative stage during the engineering process, it allows us to speed up the evolutionary design process. Driven by more than 200 parameters such as cross-section dimensions, clearances, performance targets, their Finite Element Method (FEM) established a calculation model to determine the absolute real-world performance of the frame. Through complex computations, the characteristics of each iteration of frame design are realized and refined until the optimal combination of all parameters is found.''

Hidden in plain sight, the technical proficiency and aesthetic simplicity of the Integrated Cockpit is the epitome of Swiss engineering and design. Keeping cables and housing in their place: out of sight.
For more than a decade BMC has lead the industry in integration and design - creating systematic engineering solutions that have been copied time and again. The patented Integrated Cockpit System is no different, and has yet again elevated BMC's approach to sleek and functional integration. Using proprietary engineering methods for the frame, fork and stem, the Integrated Cockpit System eliminates external cable and housing from handlebar to rear axle. The result is a design that is both form and function.
A patented flat-steerer design allows for an incredibly service- friendly cable routing solution for cables to pass seamlessly through the frame and fork interface.
The proprietary Integrated Cockpit Stem comes in 5 lengths (90, 100, 110, 120, & 130mm) to enable riders to create their ideal riding position. The cable clamp and cable cover system have been designed to prevent unnecessary complications with installation, adjustment or servicing and provide safekeeping for electronic cables and hydraulic housing.
The ICStem faceplate is feature adaptable - integrated computer mounts and action camera adapters are aftermarket available.

Asymetric Design by Design by ACE Technology
BMC's in-house Accelerated Composites Evolution (ACE) technology accelerates the development process by light years. Usingthis virtual prototyping process instead of traditional methods meant BMC could explore more tube shape options for the Teammachine. Analysis of the load distribution from the rider andinduced brake forces, led us to design an asymmetric bottom bracket and chain stays as well as a beefed-up brake directbrake-mount section. Asymmetric tube shapes enable us to continue to deliver the superior ride experience the Teammachineis famous for.
Ultra-lightweight premium carbon
Once ACE Technology did its job to define the perfect tube shapes, their Impec Lab technicians scrutinized carbon lay-upmethods to define the strongest yet lightest construction for the Teammachine. With every injection of Wattage to its pedals the Teammachine proves that it is not just a marketing claim – it’s acompetitive advantage.
BMC has become obsessed with integration. It takes some thinking outside of the box, but finding innovative ways to shape carbon fiber tubes to integrate cables and components with the frame, without sacrificing performance, is one of BMC's favorite challenges. As well as giving it a sleek look, the Teammachine's high level of integration has an additional benefit: dirt and delivera very clean look. On the Teammachine BMC's engineers cleverly nested the Di2 junction box out of sight within the frame, it also has an internalcable-guiding system which makes servicing easier andprevents annoying rattling. If your friends didn’t have bike envy before, they definitely will now.
