You, the trail, synchronized

Trail riders are mountain biking’s most demanding crowd. They require a bike to effectively balance fast climbs, rip the descents, tackle tight switchbacks and withstand repeated daily punishment. It’s an ambitious order. BMC loves that. They re-engineered the Speedfox to be the elusive ‘quiver killer’. It is light, sturdy, capable of adventure, yet still eager for all-out speed. A ride for any trail, anywhere. The Speedfox’s premium frame, with its state-of-the-art geometry and low standover height, delivers maneuverability around challenging features yet confident, straight-line stability. Whether that’s going up or coming down. Integrated protection and internal routing make the bike look sharp, but also keep cables and parts safe during long, hard rides.

Technology

Trailsync Technology
Synced – Trailsync technology combines dropper post operation and compression damping, simplifies your cockpit, and eliminates one-handed, on-the-fly adjustments.

Trailsync goes beyond the benefits of a standard dropper post by combining automatic suspension adjustment and saddle position adjustment. It is perfectly integrated in the frame design and operated with a single, remote lever.

1. Activate Trailsync by pressing the remote lever

2. The remote lever activates the dropper post (drop or rise)

3. The dropper post controls the suspension mode

Uphill trail: saddle up!                                                           All-out trail riding: saddle down!

How many times has your seatpost been suspended when you wished it were down? Or you discovered that your suspension was locked-out, when you’re already half-way down the trail?

Trailsync controls your riding position and suspension tune with one flick of a lever. An intuitive system that maximizes the amount of sync time you have with the trail.

APS- Advanced Pivot System

No compromises - APS suspension technology allows you to pedal hard, brake fast, and soak up bumpe without cocmpromise.

Kinematics: 1    Obstacles: 0

Creating a full-suspension platform is nothing short of rocket science – a balancing act of great pedaling efficiency, unimpeded braking, small and big bump compliance, and a nice serving of fun and playful handling. BMC's solution is the Advanced Pivot System (APS), which optimizes pivot locations for ideal kinematics and results in purposeful leverage ratios, axle paths, and shock performance characteristics. The reward is a World-Champion proven system capable of cross-country racing, all-mountain ripping, and everything in between.

A well-designed full suspension bike

A well-designed full suspension bike offers the control and confidence to ride any trail without hesitation. Traction, control and efficiency are the top priorities with APS and BMC uses a series of simulation supercomputers to ensure each discipline of riding gets the perfect balance of performance metrics so riders have the experience they expect every day on the trail. BMC believes it should also be durable, tuneable for any rider and serviceable in a short amount of time. APS relies on two very short links, moving in a concentric motion, to create a rear wheel axle path that promotes a perfect balance of leverage ratio, fully-active braking performance, pedal kickback and efficiency, and small bump sensitivity.

The result is a light, stiff and compact structure that promotes excellent control and energy transfer for the rider.

Traction

To achieve just the right amount of travel for each of BMC's distinct models they've optimized the leverage ratio, ensuring the optimal balance between progression and small bump sensitivity.

Control

BMC's system relies on two short links with major benefits - increasing front-to-back frame stiffness for decreased frame stress and better overall wheel tracking. Pick your line and let the bike do the rest.

Efficiency

No rider wants to waste their energy - BMC aim for an efficient design in every model they make, keeping the tires on the ground and making the most of every pedal stroke.

BWC- Big Wheel Concept

Agility & stability - Purposeful geometry and cockpit design mean BMC's 29" bikes are nimbl, stable and incrediblt efficient.

More than big wheels

It takes a lot more than just adding bigger wheels to fully capture the benefits of the 29er. And for that reason, the transition to bigger wheels has, for many brands, proven incredibly difficult. But BMC's progressive Big Wheel Concept created a totally new way of thinking, from axle to axle, and has set them apart from the rest. More control, more comfort, more confidence and a whole lot more speed, the 29er and BWC are the past, present and future of big wheels.

Big Wheel Concept is much more involved than a wheel diameter; it’s a philosophy, a mindset, a strategic approach to geometry and handling characteristics to make 29er bikes ride intuitively. When the transition to 29” wheels started catching fire, their engineers realized quickly that the entire bike, from handlebar to rear triangle, had to be redesigned and re-evaluated. The end result is a multi-faceted approach: position the rider in an ideal space for traction and control, create the perfect cockpit for confidence, and rethink geometry until the bike is fast, fearless and nimble.

Greater agility

Perfect chainstay length, maximum bottom bracket drop and a short stem all create a bike stem all create a bike atat works with the rider, not against them.

Increased stability

With a larger contact patch, 29" wheels are known for stability and predictability -  BMC takes things further with a purposeful geometry and cockpit.

Control

Specific geometry designs to compliment big wheels means awesome rider control

Speed

Keep it rolling - 29er wheels roll fast up or down

Nimble handling

Stay confident, fast and maneurvable in the tight stuff

Concept

Trailsync

Advanced riders constantly adjust suspension platform and seatpost height to optimize their bikes for terrain. BMC engineered Trailsync technology to elegantly link dropper post and platform damping technologies so any necessary adjustment happens in the blink of an eye, with just one lever. Speedfox’s suspension is firm when its seatpost is up for climbs. Once you get to the top of a hill, one flick simultaneously drops the saddle and opens platform damping for a smooth, plush descent. Trailsync’s cable-actuated components and integrated seat mast are internally routed, so the technology doesn’t interfere with the Speedfox’s fantastic looks. Fewer levers and cables also streamline your cockpit and reduce weight.

APS – Advanced Pivot System

Smooth is fast. The best suspension designs provide control and confidence so you can ride without hesitation. BMC optimized their Advanced Pivot System (APS) for pedaling efficiency and smooth operation on each of their full-suspension mountain bikes to handle the demands of the terrain the bike is intended for.

High Level Integration

For more than a decade BMC has led industry integration and design - developing innovative engineering solutions in their unique Impec Lab.  BMC invents groundbreaking frames and technology, then refine and integrate those technologies for maximum rider benefit. They've eliminated external cable housing from handlebar to chainstay and blended suspension and frame guards seamlessly into the design of the Speedfox. The result of all this effort is a beautiful, sleek design that also performs.
