BMC: Granfondo GF01 Disc 105 - 2016

The BMC Granfondo GF01 Disc 105 was originally developed for the BMC Racing Team, but its ergonomic geometry, high vertical compliance and stable handling address the needs of any discerning long-distance cyclist. BMC engineers married the team's Granfondo race frame with disc brakes for greater braking power and modulation, making it an exceptional companion on almost any road and weather conditions. This bike truly is the Gran Turismo of cycling: an exceptional machine that offers unparalleled comfort for long distances. Its endurance-fit geometry and carefully selected components help you to get the most out of every long ride.

Discbrake performance, on-road experience

The brake caliper is bolted directly onto the chain stays according to the postmount 140 mm standard. Brake housing runs internally from the chainstay to the head tube.

Clean and safe routing of the Di2 wire along the rear brake housing, and internal routing of the front brake cable through the headset and into the carbon fork.

TCC - Tuned Compliance Concept

It’s not easy to imagine compliance and stiffness working as one, but the Tuned Compliance Concept does just this. The most advanced bikes are designed to be dynamic on the road and cutting-edge BMC engineers understand this as an opportunity in functional design.

DTi –- Dual Transmission Integration

Future-proof and very clean cable routing system that is compatible with both traditional mechanical cables and electronic components.

A frame is only as good as its parts , BMC's is what they like to call future proof. Wielding the tools of their trade, they developed the Dual Transmission Integration feature – or DTi. Unique to BMC, DTi allows the cable routing to be easily swapped from mechanical to electronic shift systems. Giving you total freedom in your choice of groupsets. Applied to all of BMC's new road frames, the integration is clean, without loss in the aesthetic or aerodynamic department. A sleek look that performs.

BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept is further enhanced with the Angle Compliance system. Optimized Carbon fiber layups and tube shapes are combined with cantilevered rear dropouts, flexible, flattened seat stays, and the added rake on the fork. From the first pedal stroke you will notice how comfortable it is. Our proprietary seatpost, which is designed to flex in response to upward force, is also part of the compliance system.

Confidence inspiring

Disc brakes give you better brake modulation. This means confident brake feel no matter the conditions the weather throws at you. It also gives your fingers a break on strenuous mountain descents, while reducing the risk of overheating the rims.

Thanks to the tapered 1–1/8” to 1–1/2” steerer tube, oversized down tube, and massive chain stays, the bike is renowned for its stability on descents.

Designed to take up to 28 mm tires, the Granfondo lets you tackle the roughest, bumpiest roads with ease.

The Granfondo’s geometry has been optimized for riding long distances on all kinds of roads. It is very stable with a greater bottom bracket drop and a laid-back head tube angle enabling a more relaxed and upright seating position.

Keep your bike on the road, and not in the workshop. With an integrated chain catcher, durable tires, and a well-rounded choice of components, this bike will take you thousands of kilometers with little need for maintenance.

Upgrade your bike to the latest drivetrain technology with DTi (dual transmission integration).
